I even think my 2013 Air is almost snapper than the 2015 Pro sometimes. I find the 13" pro and air differences slightly minimal. Well, I'd say settle on 16gb, but honestly my Air worked just fine doing web programming for many years, on 8gb, so your call. I just want for something that would perform at least as good as my 2015 Pro compared to my current 2018 Pro.Īh sorry. I don't know much about tech specs other than from what I gather online, but the specs I mentioned above supposedly have the same performance and I'm looking for some insight on what would be better. This would happen whenever I would run the Android Studio emulator, if I was compiling a bunch of Rust code, or if I had Visual Studio open for a sustained amount of time. My 2015 Pro's fan would kinda get a bit loud and heat up a bit but wouldn't necessarily shutdown and die on me. Looking to upgrade because my current 2018 Pro seriously overheats and sometimes shuts down. I'm not necessarily doing heavy-duty type programming but I at least need something that can withstand and not completely die on me when I'm compiling rust code, using Android Studio, Unity, or Visual Studio for at least a few months. I'm in software engineering (last semester) so I'll be using it for programming but after I'm done school I'm probably just going to use it for Netflix (and possibly light gaming on Steam like Jackbox but most likely not), since work would be providing me with my own laptop. Recently got a 2018 13" Pro (2.3 GHz i5 quad-core, 8 GB 2133 MHz mem) as a hand-me-down and it's performed significantly worse than my 2015 Pro.Ĭonsidering getting the 2020 Air (1.2 GHz i7 quad-core, 16 GB 3733 MHz mem) instead of the baseline 2020 13" Pro (1.4 GHz i5 quad-core, 16 GB 2133 MHz mem) mostly becauseĢ) Baseline Pro comes out to about $200 more after taxes and the tech specs don't look very different and from what I've read online, the air is the better deal. iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch wallpapers. These belong in the beta subreddits listed below.
